First of all I'd like to say it's crazy to think that it's been a whole month since my Paris trip, which is something I would still like to write about, and that it's only 5 short weeks until my birthday! And it's Easter soon too, so there's lots to be excited about!
Speaking of my birthday, something I really would love to do is to plan a few things that I could maybe do with friends for my birthday, and is probably a main reason why I'm so super determined to make some of the friendships I'm trying to improve on work, so I'll have more people to celebrate my birthday with. I have written down a few ideas of things I could do to celebrate my birthday, it's just deciding on what I'd like to do and who to celebrate with. Of course, there's my family, my 2 closest friends and perhaps some friends from my old college course as well that I could celebrate my birthday with too, I'll just have to see what they're all doing around Easter time.
I've also had a very busy weekend, with it being Mothers' Day and everything, and my friend wanted to see me this weekend, as I haven't seen them for a while, so I haven't had much of a chance to do much college work this weekend, but hopefully I'll be able to catch up soon. I've also been a bit worried about these case studies I've had to do, as I'm not really entirely sure how to go about starting the case studies. I've decided to write about Nintendo for one of them (Neil Wood) and Pixar for the other (Neil Brewis) but I just feel I need to start thinking about what to write about in these subject areas, considering the sources I have. For the Pixar case study, I plan to re-read The Pixar Story and To Infinity and Beyond, and take notes from both books to help me record information I'll need for the essay.
I've also had a few more ideas for my next project. I could look into how music fits into games and tells a story, and maybe compose some music for a game, or make a 3D animated music video for an existing song, or create a shooting game of some sort, which focuses on destroying negativity and unkindness and bad things in people like that. Or making a Dance Dance Revolution Style animation.
I've also thought about what Neil has said about my current proposals, I'm still happy to maybe work on the trading card idea, but I'm not sure how I see that relating to what I've already done with my research too much in this module, and also considered my platform game/storyboard idea, which Neil said was too ambitious, I shouldn't have to do any developed concept pieces, and maybe just do a storyboard and perhaps just combine that with the Augmented Reality idea I had for the Trading Card idea, or just create a short game level with just one picture at each end of the level, instead of a whole storyboard. We'll see, but I'll have to decide what it is I am doing for the end of year show very soon.
Another thing I have been thinking about is the people I have been spending time with at college at lunchtimes. I notice I am very quiet around them, which has made me feel like I should consider my options a bit more, see who else is around college, such as a couple of people from the Rome trip. The people I have seen and spent time with at college are still nice, and I don't think any less of them, I feel I'm just one of those people who takes a while to get to know.
I've also read the "Shyness and Social Anxiety" self help guide this weekend, and I feel it is a very detailed and very helpful booklet, and can relate to what's being said in there quite a lot, and I feel that it will help me to think things through much better and hopefully using the tips I have learned in that booklet will help me to improve my confidence and socialising a lot more.
